CRN Channel Awards Asia - Winners Q&A with Jasie Fon, Regional Vice President Asia at Ping Identity
Jasie Fon talks being a winner at this year's CRN Channel Awards Asia
How does it feel to be recognized as the Woman of the Year for Vendors at the CRN Channel Awards 2025?
I’m incredibly surprised, humbled, and honoured to be recognised as the Woman of the Year for Vendors. Asia is home to so many remarkable and inspiring women leaders, so standing among them is a privilege.
I’m deeply grateful to my leaders at Ping Identity and to the mentors and managers I’ve had throughout my 30-year journey in tech. Their belief in me, often before I believed in myself, has shaped my career, and this recognition wouldn’t be possible without their trust, support, and encouragement. This award is also a reminder of the responsibility I carry. In a male-dominated industry, I’m constantly aware of the need to elevate, champion, and create space for more women. If anything, this recognition reinforces that women across all roles and backgrounds deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated and that our contributions truly matter.
Can you share with us a bit about your journey in the tech industry?
I’ve spent 30 years in the tech industry, building a career that spans sales, marketing, business development, entrepreneurship and digital transformation across Asia.
The first decade of my journey was about learning, experimenting and growing in world-class organisations such as IBM and Microsoft. Those early years gave me the foundations : understanding of business challenges across industries, commercial discipline and a deep appreciation on the complexity of enterprise selling. The next 10 years took me into entrepreneurship as the co-founder of an award-winning IT professional services firm. I managed the full P&L, drove strategic growth, built high-performing teams and scaled the business to profitability from its very first year. One of the proudest milestones of my career was leading the company through a successful acquisition by a U.S. technology firm.
Over the past decade, I’ve held senior leadership roles at Workday, Darktrace and now Ping Identity, where I’ve led cross-border business across ASEAN, North Asia, Japan and India. My focus has been on market entry, regional sales leadership and business transformation, from navigating complex regulatory landscapes, to managing enterprise customer portfolios, to integrating cultural diversity into scalable, sustainable business models. It has been an incredibly rewarding journey, and every chapter has shaped the leader I am today.
How important is it to recognize the success of women in technology, especially in the channel ecosystem?
Recognising the success of women in technology, especially in the channel ecosystem, is incredibly important. Visibility matters. When women see other women being acknowledged for their contributions, it builds confidence, opens possibilities and shows that leadership comes in many forms.
For me, this recognition comes with a sense of responsibility, but in a very grounded and personal way. I’ve always believed that when we are given opportunities and support, we have a chance to pay it forward. And I feel a sense of helping create space for the next generation of young women so they can step into this industry with courage and belief in their own potential. Celebrating women does more than acknowledge achievements today; it’s about paving a clear, confident path for those aspiring women who come after us.
